I don't know, when we heard the previews 'something little' sounded like it was going to be a yawn fest but it's been stuck in my head all week...I think it's a little like 'Praline' in that it doesn't sound super interesting but it has something that sticks with you.

The lyrics are also really sweet.

i got them now... and i have to say the moonlight performance is indeed brilliant!.. maaya-nee sounds like a mother already ..
made me remember the feeling when hearing her in uchuu hikoushi no uta.
and also.... my fave instrument is piano, so i officially surrendered to this version XD

the others.. just as good as i imagined.. lots of jazzes and grooves!! supika and bokura no rekishi!!.. what a pleasant gift..
the change of mood from mizuumi to bokura no rekishi is kinda cool

I love "Okaeri-nasai" -- so peaceful. "A Happy New Year" confuses me. The lyrics are very happy and bright, nothing sad or dark in them at all. It's all about being happy that you have someone to spend the holidays with, pretty much. But the arrangement, even since the Yuming original, has always made the song sound very regretful and gloomy. Maaya's is no different. Makes it sound more like it's a breakup song--but it's not! I really don't get it at all.

...that's the first time I've ever heard Ireland called exotic.

Really? I've only skimmed them while making romaji, haven't made a formal translation yet, but I get the sense that it's a breakup song, presented very shyly and politely, like "Um, so, I kinda need something more than what I get from you."

i can't imagine what kinda arrangement that could make that song brighter.... it's all about the melody composition. sounds like longing for something to happen again....

i kinda suspicious that the lyric has more depth in it.. did you translate it yourself freckle?
