(also, there's no need for starting a file sharing section. I think it's easy to tell when to draw the line. If somebody is requesting a whole album, unless it's really rare (letter~bring to light) it's much easier to tell them where to shove the pole... )

The other thing is that shops who stock the rarer singles are catering towards the people who will do whatever it takes to complete their physical CD collection, and therefore they can justify importing the single because they can add a significant markup that goes towards the store, not the record ...

I don't think the file sharing thing really applies to rares.
