RE: Moderators

Yeah, by now 6½ years. And we had a forum even before that! I had Mount Maaya Sakamoto back in the days and the merri.net forum started it's life sometime in 2003... I think. I don't have any backups from that forum. Started fresh with maayas.net :) Now that's dedication. Long live maayas.n...

RE: Moved from phpBB2 to MyBB

The ban was in a different place; I guess the biggest issue was that the forum's ban was raised multiple times (but there can be only one ban per user!). The Akismet plugin really seems to have some bugs that should be resolved. Edit! I filed a bug . I don't see the ban message now anymore, so I th...

RE: On the wiki / main site

I really like the idea of a wiki that all Maaya fans could potentially contribute to. The info that you have up so far is useful and should definitely stay. I read in another thread that having lyrics was a possibility? There are already a number of established lyrics/translation sites for Maaya and...

RE: Moved from phpBB2 to MyBB

Everything seems to be operating normally for me when I'm logged in, but the Akismet message won't go away. It's just a red box at the top of the page, like this:

RE: Moved from phpBB2 to MyBB

You had a lot of links in your posts and it seems like you edited the same post a lot of times, so this probably made Akismet think you're a spammer. I cleared it up so it shouldn't bother you for now :) Thanks so much! I figured it might be the links. I did hit 'Preview Post' several times before ...

English-lyric covers (Looking for vocalists!)

UPDATE: Instead of looking for soloists, I'm entertaining the idea of turning this into a collaborative chorus project. (Yes, I was inspired by the Chinese fans' Spica tribute for Maaya's 30th birthday! Here it is on youtube if you haven't watched it yet; your life will be richer for having heard i...

RE: Moved from phpBB2 to MyBB

And immediately had to install some spam blocking ^_^;; reCAPTCHA attempts to prevent bot registrations while Akismet manages spam messages that may get through. Akismet seems to have "banned" me, but I'm not sure how this works... I seem to still be able to reply to threads but I'll have to see if...

RE: Moved from phpBB2 to MyBB

Also, Admin - just a note...

Not sure if this is a legit worry, but it seems that any registered user has the ability to edit the wiki pages. This is fine for info like discography and songs etc, but for, say, the home page, I believe something like restricted access is in order?

Glad you liked the translation. :]

To me, it personally speaks of two cultures and languages separated by millenia. It's a song about travelling backwards in time to a time when we could still understand each other.

I matched up a video here on my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14tDEOnKVEw It's 2 whole notes out of my range. I need more practice before I can cover it. :'D (It's much higher than it sounds, and muchmuchmuch harder than Yubiwa) I don't think that Maaya went with the envoy ship, bu...

English lyrics with rhyme and meter to be sung to the original tune!
I raise my voice to the sky, can you hear me O birds of passage who fly over the sea?
How much accuracy do you suppose you'd have to sacrifice to get the syllables to line up nicely?
From my experience translating Maaya's lyrics into rhyme and/or matching meter, I would say that most of the accuracy can be kept intact. It's wonderful that Japanese has so ma...
