I'm a bit surprised no one else here has posted about this, but maybe there aren't many gamers on this msg board. In any case, check out this new trailer for FF XIII. Even though the voice cast hasn't been announced, I'm quite confident Maaya is the lead female character, Lightning.

I guess none of us are gaming people, also, I don't usually pick up on voice acting unless it's announced on her page and even then it's like *meh* voice-acting, haha. Still if it does end up being official then it's great for Maaya. Final Fantasy is a huge franchise!

I just saw the trailer and I think that's possible : Lightning's voice reminds me the princess in Gunbuster 2.

Did people actually doubt this based on the trailer? Well, I guess some people did, but I sure didn't.

I love Final Fantasy. But in the trailer I didn't recognize her voice at all !!!???

im a gamer especially final fantasy. got ff5-12 and tactics. i play ff11 for 4 years and 8 months now. i hope square-enix is reading this (okay i know they arent im just despaired): plz implement japanese voices as an option in the NTSC or PAL versions

Final fantasy XIII is not out yet.
The Japanese version will release during winter 2009
while the North American and European versions are estimate around spring 2010.

Also worth noting is that it's highly unlikely the localized versions of the game will include the Japanese audio tracks. So if you plan to get the game and want to hear Maaya, make sure to import the Japanese version. It's also a good idea to get a PS3 since it doesn't have region locking for games. The price just dropped in some countries w/ the new slim model, so good time to buy one now.

I'm going to pass on the game myself, have no interest in the FF series.

some rpgs have both the japanese audio and the english one included like in valkyria chronicles for example. plz square be kind.

Maaya appears in the FFXIII tv special. She talks about her impression of Lightning. They are really making a big deal out of this game.

Maaya's voice aside the fact that Lightning is essentially a female Cloud is a bit distrubing.
