There is a torrent floating around of a recording of Maaya's 2001 Tanabata concert. I have uploaded the file to: http://hotfile.com/dl/26417719/211de5a/ ... 1.rar.html

Note to Merri: I've already checked with Dilly but if there is any problems about sharing the file please delete this topic.

Btw, CDJ is re-releasing all of Maaya's albums again. For those who are missing some, buy now and show your loyalty to our beloved songstress!! That is all :)

The recording isn't that great of a quality and you can't get it from any official source anyway, so in this case I'll only remove the link if I'm contacted from Victor Entertainment or from my webhost. I guess it'll only work more as a free advertisement for Maaya lives than does any harm :)

Cheers

And it is a shame about the quality.

Wow, what a great find!
I've skimmed over the tracks - the hatoyama recordings are definately the better of the two, quality-wise. Having said that, bot performances were recorded REALLY well for bootlegs. Better quality than the Yoko Kanno Tanabata Sonic bootleg thats been floating around.
While I generally have a pretty strict policy of no downloads when it comes to music, concert bootlegs are one area where the internet really makes a positive impact by allowing people to listen to recordings that would never have been made available otherwise, without having to pay for copies of said bootlegs - money which the artisit would never have seen a cent/yen of otherwise.
But Im rambling. In short. Great find!

I'm downloading this now to see what kind of a quality it has. I happen to have a few MP3s I made many years ago that I think improved the quality of this concert by removing hum, but I just have to download and see if this is correct. If it is, I'll upload the MP3s. I don't have the entire concert though, or, I do have, but my tagging program failed at one point removing all the tags and misrenaming the files so I have a lot of files with no identification... I don't know if I'll even bother going through the files, over a 1000 of them.

Edit!
This appears to be a different one than I had, from the filenames. I remember having to cut a WAV file myself.

Maaya's live in 2001 is 'Tanabota', not 'Tanabata'.
Tanabata(七夕) means Japanese traditional holiday in July.
Tanabota(タナボタ) is abbreviation of 'Tana kara botamochi(棚からぼた餅)'.
It means fortune happens unexpectedly.

Since this was at the time she was working with Kanno, likely the same team as on the album, meaning Imahori Tsuneo on guitar.
