Budōkan Concert Pamphlet

If you haven't bought the pamphlet yet, maybe this will convince you it's worth getting.

The Best of What's Inside
  • More than a dozen pictures from the "everywhere" photo shoot
  • An eight-page interview
  • Twenty-five pages of Maaya photos taken by Yoko Kanno
  • A five-page transcript of a conversation with CLAMP
  • A complete discography of every single, album, and DVD
Look & Feel

This is a hefty publication -- 150 pages high-quality printing on thick, glossy, A4-size paper. Any forwarding service you use will probably charge a fortune, since it nearly weighs a kilogram. (My total shipping costs from IDS! and Tenso.com were about the same as the pamphlet itself -- 3,500 JPY.) It feels sturdy, and so far has stood up well to being scanned.

Photo Collections

Even if you can't read the moonscript, about half the pages are covered in beautiful photos. The Kanno/Maaya collaboration stands out, both in size and character. The photos in this set have a sort of girlish innocence and playfulness with a hint of seductiveness -- not a side of Maaya we get to see often.

Discography

This is more than just the cover art and tracklistings for every release. There are various photos and full-page reprints of the advertisement posters for many albums and singles. Since the photos were taken at the time of each release, as you flip through the discography it's almost like watching Maaya grow up.

Hopefully this isn't the last printing of the Daily Maaya Sakamoto. I'd love to see another issue. (Maybe on her 20th anniversary?)

Maaya is so elegant as always♥
Thanks for sharing the sample images as well. Enough to convince me :P
BTW, not really important, but I never knew she has a moe under her lip. Either it's really light and I just never paid attention to it/it gets covered up with light makeup/or photoshop :P

Recently I've often wondered about how much airbrushing goes into Maaya's photos. True, she's very health-conscious and I'm sure she takes good care of her skin, but she can't be perfect... That and I think she normally wears glasses when she's not working, so I wonder if the average fan would be able to recognize her on a Tokyo street. Of course the photos are still nice, airbrushed or not.

I also think it's worth the money, it's a really nice publication.

When at the concert Maaya said "It's a bit expensive, isn't it?", some guy shouted back "No, it's cheap!" (Yasui mon da!).

Though I imagine you can find a full set of scans from a more disreputable source, I encourage you to buy a copy and show your appreciation for the hard work that went into this pamphlet. :)

Where can I buy this? I need to be an ID member?
I'm not an ID member, if it's only for members, it will be very hard to buy.

I would really love to, but being a university student, I can't spend much of anything on something that's not gas and groceries.

Ultimately, a fanbase is encouraged by the spreading of materials between fans, especially when those materials are not readily available to fans for a variety of reasons. Hoarding only keeps fanbases small, and interbase-relations grudgey.

The concert goods, to include the pamphlet, are available for purchase by anyone (even if you're not an IDS! member) at http://www.ids-shop.jp/. You'll need to use a forwarding service if you're not in Japan, as IDS! doesn't ship internationally.

I was hoping it'd contain fairly HQ images of her previous calendars too but that doesn't mean I'm not getting it anymore aha /can't wait to order

Just hope these concert goods aren't limited for a certain (short) time. I really can't afford to spend atm but I'd love to have my own copy ;o;

Thanks for the teaser images! I saw some photos of several more pages here a while back to those who are interested~

This is really rough, but try this: Ordering Guide for the IDS! Shop

If you have any questions or if there's anything unclear in the above guide, let me know so I can edit it.
