The fourth wave of Maaya's 15th anniversary attack! A double a-side single featuring the two cover songs revealed in the past few weeks. It'll be released on the 20th of October 2010!
The third track will be 'Kanashikute yarikirenai' which is another cover song! Woo. The first pressing will have a DVD featuring the PV of DOWN TOWN. Or, as Victor Music have put above, DOWN TONWN
Woo hoo! Even though these are covers, I'll take what I can get!
I still wonder if Utsukushii Hito will ever be released on cd. Anyways, gota lots of stuff to post on MS.net. Budokan concert video coming out, new cd single announced, new anime role... oy!
From Maaya's new status update on her official homepage. Apparently the PV of DOWN TOWN was previewed at TBS Anime Festa the other day. Burikko?!?? I must see this PV 0_0
Also, from luminaire at Jpopmusic:
And news regarding the three songs from Neowing:
- "DOWN TOWN" has been arranged big-band style, with a 35-piece backing band.
- "yasashisa ni tsutsumareta nara" has been changed into an upbeat, summer-style tune. (A bit late, but heh.)
- "kanashikute yarikirenai" is the simplest of the three, done to a piano jazz trio
I think it'll be good. I love DEPAPEPE (if you don't know them they're a brilliant acoustic guitar duo) and if they keep to an acoustic guitar arrangement I think it'll suit the song, along with Maaya's vocals.
I'll be interested in hearing DOWNTOWN; I'm so pleased that Maaya continues to work with Kitagawa, although all his arrangements do sound very similar I count some of his Round Table work as some of the best anime themes of the past decade or so (particularly Puzzle and Sunny Side Hill). After the rather disappointing collaborators Maaya worked with on Yuunagi Loop and 30 minutes I think she's working with much better artists these days.
late but maaya's going to sing tatsuro yamashita's song..
i only know him through kimura takuya's 2002 dorama, good luck theme song...
and also a yuming's song
just close your eyes and follow your HEART --> vanished to dust T.
