What's particularly nice about Maaya doing Daddy Long Legs is that it's directed by and written by John Caird, the director of Les Mis - so he obviously liked her enough when she played Eponine to cast her on this.

And she's playing opposite Yoshio Inoue, who is a huge star for Toho (the producers of the show) and has just played a fairly major supporting role in the Space Brothers movie. So even though this is a small scale show it's still a pretty big deal IMO.

I'm sure most people who are interested already know this but Daddy Long Legs is having more performances in January next year at the Theatre Creation where it played before.

The show is playing in London at the moment with the same production that was used by TOHO for the Japanese staging; John Caird, the director, has a Japanese wife, and has directed several shows for TOHO. It's a lovely show, and Maaya's role of Jerusha is on stage for the entire thing. Did any of the Japanese papers review the show? I don't know how theatre reviews work in Japan, although I understand that the press always come to the very first performance.
