[tech] Unclocking your 3D card, uh what that suppose to mean

Post by Imurann »

Hi there,

You may wonder when buying a 3D card, it may have some hidden capabilities under it's hood, which needs a slight tweak to unlock it. Here's a guide with images (slightly-guided) with red and green boxes as where to click.

The price in which I got this is for $65 dollars. Pretty cheap for a 256bit *16px shaders 5 vertex shader card. PCI-E edition is said not to work, that's what I've heard.

Product name: 6800XT [AGP edition]
Company: Galaxy
Rarity: Limited stock

* we need to go through this steps below to unlock it, with a help of a tool called Rivatuner. Latest version is advised. Can be found in guru3d.com downloads section, overclocking area I think.

Drivers for nvidia? www.nvidia.com

Risk: Minimum. Since no overclocking involved.

Note: I purposely made this guide a bit unfriendly just because as a safety precaution and should only be used with those whom know what they're doing.

Image Guided starts now, lock target on the red boxes XD

Once all done, apply and a reboot message will emerge.

Well, any questions I'll be gladly to reply.
Leave me a message if you notice someone spamming over here, I'll clean it up for you.
