Veteran singer-songwriter, Matsutoya Yumi has topped the albums chart with her 40th anniversary best album, "Nippon no Koi to, Yuming to". It has been 11 years since she achieved no.1 in the chart with her last time being her ballad best album, "sweet, bitter sweet YUMING BALLAD BEST" (November 2001), for a total of 22 no.1 albums overall. Yuming is ranked first among female artist with the most number of million-selling albums (9), and including the 22 no.1 albums, she has 58 total works also ranked, and has now reached an overall total sales of 30.154 million copies. She has set a milestone as the first female artist to have surpassed 30 million in album sales. Including singles, Yuming has now achieved the first place for 5 consecutive decades from 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, breaking the record held by Tokunaga Hideaki, Kuwata Keisuke and Yamashita Tatsuro (all 3 artists achieved the first place in 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s). She is also the oldest female artist to reach no.1 at 58 years and 10 months old, breaking the record held by Takeuchi Mariya (now 57) who made it with "Expressions" (October 2008) when she was 53 years and 3 months old.

Congratulations, but the most important thing is that you do what you love to do, not how famous you are or how successful.
I wonder if Maaya compares herself too much with others. You shouldn't do that. It only leads to jealousy or cockiness. There will always be someone higher or lower than you.

I agree. I'm not comparing Yuming and Maaya, I just wanted to mention this issue, Yuming is an artist who has collaborated with Maaya, and Maaya is a fan of her.
