Hope you weren't up too early T_T
RE: Maaya working on Galactic Railroad Project
OK, hopefully this worked. If you have any problems with these links, let me know.
MP3: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L0WMS3IX (68MB)
FLV: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MT1J9MFC (403MB)
The video cuts between several angles in the theater and the illustrations, so if you're needing a dose of audiovisual Maaya, you can find it here. Skip to 4:20 to go straight to the story, or listen from the beginning if you want to hear Nozomi Furuki stumble through (in a cute sort of way) the list of theaters that participated in the simulcast. I took the liberty of cutting the 10-minute intermission from both.
I found this story harder to follow than the last one, but fortunately Sai-zen-sen again published the text, which should make things easier the second time through. If you want to keep the text, make a copy somewhere, because it's only online until January 20.

RE: Maaya working on Galactic Railroad Project
For the sake of completeness before this thread shuts down, here are the download links for every story:
Night 1: Excerpt from Chapter 9 of Kenji Miyazawa's “Night on the Galactic Railroad”
MP3 (28MB), FLV (230MB)
Night 2: Atsushi Nakajima's “Sangetsuki”
MP3 (28MB), FLV (270MB)
Night 3: Otsuichi's “Bedtime Story”
MP3 (75MB), FLV (472MB), PDF (0.8MB)
Night 4: Kinoko Nasu's “Lunar Corals”
MP3 (68MB), FLV (403MB), PDF (1MB)
I'm working on a translation for “Bedtime Story” at the moment. Unfortunately it won't be ready until around May, since I'm putting it together piece-by-piece for a local Japanese study group. The good news is that at the end I'll have a parallel text with grammar notes and vocabulary lists, which might interest those of you studying Japanese. I'll post to the Translations thread once it's ready for release.

Wow, thanks a lot.
I had not realized yet it was so long stories each time, and so the performance needed to succeed in reading at once the full story without mistake... This sure is a lot a work, Ganbarimashita !

You've really spoilt us, deltafour. Thank you ever so much for all your hard work recording these.
I've really enjoyed this project, I'd have no objections to something else along these lines in future. Maaya's voice is really wonderful for this type of reading.

I wonder if there are recordings of her planetarium narrations.

RE: Maaya working on Galactic Railroad Project
This could be a nice little collection, but I wonder where the price tag will land. They've basically released everything for free, so you'd think they'd have to either put together a really polished product that's worth buying, or add in bonuses you can't get anywhere else. Should be interesting to see exactly what it turns out to be come springtime.dillpops wrote:all episodes of the project will be released to buy next year!

This guy has been asked to write the lead-in to the set (I assume the prologue/intro bit)

And he's posted a little description of the product development with a couple of photos. Apparently it's going to be a hard cover book in the set. I dread to think of the price, being full colour, a hard cover and a cd inside a slipcase 0_0

A clue to the final designs perhaps?

Apparently this used book provided inspiration to the editors at the publishing company I can't wait for July!

I went to this study group today!!!deltafour wrote:I'm working on a translation for “Bedtime Story” at the moment. It was great. He does a great job of reading the story and explaining the grammar and vocab. Although my friend that I went with thinks the story is pretentious and also thought Maaya wrote it and was forming a very low opinion of her. It is also funny how much the other guys (this group is 80% dudes) just sort of humor the Maaya love.
