Yay! More video game girls by eMon!

Ok now to explain the weird title. I stumbled upon some Japanese guy's website a while back called eMoncake (LINK) Back at that time (maybe a year or more ago) he just had a bunch of fanart for Azumanga Daioh, Yotsuba, Evangelion, and some other stuff (some original). Some of the neater things he had were some original characters he designed based on video game consoles. Well it seems recently that he's realized his video game girls are a big hit and he's really started cranking out the art. He made a girl for the Xbox 360 named "Ekubo", a Playstation 3 girl named "Serebu" (not sure what that's supposed to mean, i guess just Celeb?), and the Wii girl "Wii". To make things even more cool, he drew these awesome comics about them. I love these comics so much!

hah, kawaii! i like the wii girl with the nunchaku controls. speaking of which i gotta get a wii, looks more fun than ps3 or the 360. his stuff is quite quirky, i like his azumanga stuff, does he do any manga titles or just art and strips?

The comic strips seem to be a very recent development. I've been going to his site almost every month for the last year or more, and he just drew all 4 of his comic strips in the last month or so. He mentions having something to do with some artbook in his latest news post, but I cant make out what involvement he has with it, or even what it really is. It seems he just draws artwork mainly for his website.

There is just one big problem with these console girls: in real life X360 and PS3 are ugly consoles (atleast and especially when put together). Wii is just small and compact.

Of course, eye candy is never a bad thing.

I think eMon did a pretty awesome way of creating his characters based on certain things about the systems. The Xbox 360 is American, energetic and sexy. The PS3 is sleek and sophisticated, and the wii is cute and playful.
