The song tend to get a 50's feeling, with the Big Band and all.. So they made a 50's PV.

Oooooo, I like the way this song sounds. Definitely my favorite out of the three covers. I'm such a big sucker for Maaya's slow songs.

I don't know whether it's because I'm a girl but sexy wouldn't be a word I'd use at all for the DOWN TOWN video. She looked pretty, was dressed nicely and she acted cute ( ) but nothing even came across as trying to boost sex appeal. Bit baffling really...

I think people might be reading into this too much. It's fun, go with it. Maaya's enjoying herself, after all.

Compared to PVs from other female artists, it's tame. Compared to Maaya's previous PVs, it's a big difference. But you're probably right -- I'm reading into it too much (again).

Saying that this is a change in direction for Maaya is making a mountain out of a molehill.
Its her first music video in her 30's. She said she wanted to try something new and 'mature' (quoted from IDS event on Sat).
She's basically just having fun here. She was still the same Maaya we are all used to at the IDS event on Sat - acted very cute :-)

Eitherway, dont expect DOWNTOWN to signal some significant shift in her musical direction. She isnt planning on pulling a Shiina Ringo here, lol.
