Your biggest fears

Post by Bazaa »

I had the ideia for this thread when I almost died on Tuesday night.

I was on bed, just waiting to fall asleep, when I feel something moving on my shoulder. I shove it off, and then turned on the light to see what it was.

And, on my bed, was the most FAT, BLACK AND HUGE SPIDER. I only didn't scream because it was 2AM. When I violently murdered it ( ), I couldn't turn off the light for half an hour.

So, as you can guess, I'm dead scared of spiders. And some other kinds of bugs and reptiles.

So, what are your fears? :D
No matter how much the people in this world hurry,
You can still catch me

I actually dont mind spiders too much, but I certainly dislike finding them in my bed. I usually catch harmless ones and throw them outside :P

I have a pretty bad fear of earwigs (creepy little bugs with a long abdomen that you have to step on 3 or 4 times before they actually die) and centipedes. Centipedes are probably the worst for me. I'm even too freaked out to kill them unless they're really small.

I'm not afraid of snakes at all, and I've caught several before for fun ^__^

Another big fear of mine is public speaking. Even something as simple as speaking up in a meeting with more than 7 or 8 people really gets to me.

im really squeamish. large insects (biig cockroaches) and large arachnids really get to me, but snakes dont. if the spider was in my bed i would be yelling a storm while killing it you must have good self control Bazaa. oddly when i was in the army in singapore (national service) i slept on the ground with small jungle roaches crawling all over me and it didnt bother me that much.

public speaking definitely sucks, good call Gibb. but given the choice of public speaking or big spiders like camel spiders, i would probably speak, at least i can control that fear, fear of spiders and stuff is more primeval, i think its hardwired into a deeper primative part of the mind i cant control as well.

I don't like spiders, but I never kill them, I just respect them and if possible just let them go off on their own (or get somebody else to move it outside  ) One time I was lying in the pitch black and something fell onto my face, well at first I was scared because we'd been worried about hornets getting into the house all week, so I spazzed out a couple of times and then made a mad dash for the light (also panicking as to whether anything was on the switch). On my pillow was this huuuuge house spider D:

Or the time I came back from holiday, grabbed my PJs from under the bed, put the top over my head and a huge spider ran down the sleeve and out onto my hand T_T

Needless to say I don't leave clothes under the bed anymore...

My boyfriend picked up a panadol packet that had been lying in the shower, put his hand outside and out ran the biggest american cockroach we've ever seen. Then he screamed, ran outside and slammed the bathroom door shut, a sliding door which then got jammed, we were already late for school but we spent an hour trying to force the door open, then we doused the cockroach in washing liquid and felt guilty to watch its slow painful death 9_9

im surprised you can kill roaches with washing liquid, singaporean roaches are tough, i once must have used half a can of bug spray on one and 30 min later it was still twitching. nothing beats a solid pair of boots, only trouble is you have to scrape the mess off them later...
