I don't like valentines day. Well, I like candy. And I like giving others candy. So, I guess I like what you do. I just don't like the idea of the holiday.

But, for those of you that do like it, happy valentines day.

Wasn't the original idea of valentines day that St Valentine the charity sent flowers to sick people who were alone on the 14th february, in hospitals etc. ?

It probably was. What I meant was that I don't like what it has become. Like li0n said.

I don't like it how I should time my moods of goodwill to certain time of the year. I tend to give presents and do nice stuff on my own pace when I want, not time those to certain days of the year. My gf does the exact opposite and expects me to buy presents and stuff on those days. So when I don't do it... I get to hear about it later on.

Thus: I pretty much dislike every date that has commercialism added into it (buy a present for your loved ones, it is Valentine's Day only once a year, blah blah blah).

Valentine's day is usually one of the most depressing days of the year for me XD There was such a fuss in my school about it, we even appeared on TV because of it. I think that the day is generally overrated - if you want to celebrate, wouldn't be better if you did it in private?

I agree a lot

Every time I was with my girlfriend on Valentine, that was horrible :odd:
In fact, we agreed to make our own Day of love the 15th, to compensate :)

Every day is a friendship day.

I pretty much just ignored it and it worked pretty good for me. :D At least I got a few small things from friends, etc so I didn't have to feel all sorry for myself, though I probably wouldn't have anyway, since I just pretended it didn't exist. Ridiculous "holiday."

Everyone knows about Japan and White Day, right? Did you know in Korea they have "Black Day" on April 14? Guys who didn't receive any presents at all get together and eat black noodles. HOW ANGSTY! But so, so great. Go Korea.

Well, I do like friendship every day, but I don't have the time to make cards and give out candy every day. That's why I need a specific day for that.

That sounds awesome. I should institute my own black day. Well, minus the black noodles. That kinda sounds scary.
